Cara Ullrich as Ophelia performs self-suicide with the Quick Mortal Claw, as her brother, Seko Tongola tries to stop her. Jerome York as Horatio says goodnight sweet Wong. There's me, Gabe, Rosencrantzing it up. Clinton Jeffrey, Kiseung Rhee and Chad Gallagher make The Monk Pyramid of Power. Jerome York warms up to learn some Kung Fu. Chad Gallagher warms up backstage before the show. Chris Howie sans wig, folds programs before the show. Allen smashes Yorick's skull. There's the visionary director! Matt Dawson himself! Hooray! And finally Dr.Allen Wong takes a bow.|W|P|112399188889972323|W|P|RE-MEMMM-BERRR...|W|P|gllanas@gmail.com8/12/2005 01:31:00 AM|W|P|Gabe|W|P| Bill, the gentleman responsible for authoring the Kung Fu Hamlet DVD was in the audience tonight with his very nice camera, and I grabbed a few stills from his footage. The Illusion was ever so slightly oversold, which resulted in a very raucous crowd, and somehow all that standing energy must have infected some of the crowd, because there was a slight ovation, expecially for a certain Dr. Wong. Clinton filled in for Haley tonight as the Queen in a nod to true Elizabethan theater. Friday night is the last show, then Allen is off to compete in some actual martial arts tournament against Johnny and the Cobra Kai, who knocked him off his bike and stole his soccer ball.|W|P|112382868569607062|W|P|More Stills!|W|P|gllanas@gmail.com8/10/2005 11:22:00 PM|W|P|Gabe|W|P| My sister Cassie, who has been manning (or girling) the merch table, in addition to her documentarian duties shot some close up video footage of the wednesday night show. So I've decided to throw up some stills here in the hopes of enticing some of you to come back to the show or come for the first time, depending on how much you value my opinion of your coolness. Seriously come see the show and I'll be your best friend, or maybe Cassie will be your best friend. Moat people like Cassie better than me anyway. Anyway, enjoy the images and if you're those people who I talked to at Village Wok who saw me wearing my Kung Fu Hamlet T-shirt, then you'd better be at the show or suffer my vengence, or Cassie's vengence, like I said, most people like her better than me anyway.|W|P|112373893877488509|W|P|Wednesday|W|P|gllanas@gmail.com8/11/2005 10:35:25 AM|W|P|undertoker|W|P|Seeing "Kung Fu Hamlet" is even MORE fun the seeing Gabe play "Dr. Mario"! "Kung Fu Hamlet" is better than both of the "Weekend at Bernie's" movies put together! I heard that in some counties in southern Minnesota, you have to have a perscription from a doctor to see "Kung Fu Hamlet"! That's how awesome it is! "Kung Fu Hamlet" could beat Real Madrid in an exabition match!
Zorro = Cool
Natalie Portman in "Closer" = HOT!
"Kung Fu Hamlet" = cool & HOT!

Nurse Ratchet aint got nuthin' on Rosenkrantz!8/11/2005 10:54:16 AM|W|P|Hbomb|W|P|So...who's the guy in yellow spandex and those hot, hot tube socks? Is he a mexican wrestler I should recognize? yessss....mmmmmexican wresssstler...8/07/2005 12:35:00 AM|W|P|Gabe|W|P| We had a pretty successful opening weekend. a pair of packed houses, exuberant audiences, some incredibly glowing reviews, including one from a certain Dominic Papatola of the Pioneer Press. As a matter of fact there's not a lot to say, except that if you haven't had a chance to see the show, you really should, and I say that not because if you come I make more money, but because if you come you will enjoy yourself. This show accomplishes a lot of things, and its all fine that we who are involved in the show enjoy putting it on, but once that audience is out there, it really goes to another level. So come, laugh, cry, learn about Hamlet, see Allen do Drunken Boxing, buy a t-shirt, tell a friend, be the coolest kid in class, unless you already are, in which case you can permanently secure your role as the coolest kid in class and you'll get to see a damn entertaining show in the process. Word to the theatergoers, for they shall inherit the kingdom of heaven. theatrical heaven that is. And one last word to the cast and crew: bask, revel, enjoy, you bring gladness and kung fu into the world, both of which were sorely lacking.|W|P|112346721423173822|W|P|OPENING!|W|P|gllanas@gmail.com8/07/2005 09:28:44 PM|W|P|shadoweyes|W|P|Yikes. I saw it and all I can say is that is even better than the theatrical audio Left Behind books on CD I listened to the other day. Like 2 TIMES BETTER!8/08/2005 02:37:52 PM|W|P|undertoker|W|P|My stupid DID turn to smart! I own a copy of the play on DVD and was an instant hit when i showed it to friends. Alan Wong is awesome! So RAD! He could SO kick drunk Vurkis' ASS! (ask Mr. V.K.) I'll come see the show on friday! I want an Alan Wong Autographed Kung Fu Hamlet T-Shirt!8/08/2005 03:56:28 PM|W|P|Gabe|W|P|I'm sure Dr. Wong would be happy to sign Kung Fu Hamlet paraphernelia as well as body parts.8/03/2005 01:34:00 AM|W|P|Gabe|W|P| Tonight we had our TECH REHEARSAL. It was incredibly productive as you can see, there was much patty cake played, Steph worked her tech magic in the booth: writing lighting cues, sound cues, costuming, it is always awe-inspiring to see her at work. While they were messing with the lighting, the monk fight was rehearsed in silhouette, much to my camera's pleasure. My brother, Ian, just finished the newly composed epic choral-techno, hyper-kinetic track for the final fight between Hamlet and Laertes. Just so you know, when Allen and Seko performed the final fight for the first time with the music, there was much hootin' and ahollerin' from the cast. All in all the show is really coming together. I also got a call from my mom today and she is bringing my grandma to the show all the way from Kenosha, WI. word, grandma, word.|W|P|112305228013067311|W|P||W|P|gllanas@gmail.com
